A message, from the leader of BC’s Conservatives, on World Mental Health Day
Today as I turn one year older, October 10th means more to me than my birthday.
Today is World Mental Health Day, and today is about reflecting on those that we have lost due to Mental Health and Addictions, and those struggling with it currently.
We must ensure they remember they are not alone and we are not alone in the fight against the Stigma of Mental Health.
Remember, if you are in an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
Trevor Bolin, leader
Here are just a few resources available to those in need, and for family members:
The HealthLink BC Directory provides listings for health services provided by the provincial government, provincial health authorities, and non-profit agencies across the province. You can search for walk-in clinics, emergency rooms, hospitals, mental health programs, home care programs, pharmacy services, laboratory services, and more. For help searching the directory, call 8-1-1 any time of the day, any day of the week to speak with a health service navigator.
BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS), an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), provides a range of specialized mental health and substance use services for adults across the province.
The Canadian Mental Health Association provides mental health promotion and mental illness recovery-focused programs and services for people of all ages and their families.
